“Way better than the first. I'd go see it again if there weren't so many other great movies out.”

"The Incredible Hulk" works hard to redeem the green guy's name after the mess that was Ang Lee's "Hulk". And in most aspects, it succeeds. For starters, Ed Norton brings a great performance as Bruce Banner, much more so the Eric Bana did in 2003. To accompany him, Liv Tyler stays on par as Bruce's once girlfriend Betty Ross (and much less annoying than Jennifer Connely). With overall good acting all around, and a pretty decent story, the only thing that brings this movie down is the fact that it tries too hard to be epic. Its entertaining action scenes are cut short by overly dramatic moments. A love story isn't neccesarily a bad thing, but the excessively tender moments seem somewhat out of place in this action film. However, the fight scenes are intense and the CGI allows for excellent beat-downs. Not really a superhero movie per say, which is really all that detracts from an otherwise pretty good summer flick. And be sure to look for an appearence by Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark

What’s Big and Green, and Desperate to Be a Hit All Over?

The Hulk from “The Incredible Hulk,” a coming film starring Edward Norton that has attracted some negative buzz.

LOS ANGELES — Bad buzz. Creative infighting. Superhero gridlock at the multiplex. For Marvel Studios, handling gamma rays is starting to look like a cakewalk compared to turning “The Incredible Hulk” into a movie franchise.

The unjolly green giant, born from a botched gamma bomb experiment in a 1962 comic book, belongs to an elite class of superhero. In Marvel’s stable of characters, which includes the X-Men and the Silver Surfer, only Spider-Man outsells him. The Hulk, along with his emotionally withdrawn alter ego, Dr. Bruce Banner, has spawned television shows, theme-park rides and best-selling toys.

I hope this bomb's like hell. The first one opened strong but then crashed and burned at the box office and wasn't that good to begin with. There was no need to do another one. Especially since the original actors aren't in it. But I guess they thought that using different people, even a different director, would help a great deal. However, after seeing the trailer I feel the same way about Edward Norton in a role like this as I do about Robert Downey, Jr. playing Iron Man. Completely miscasted.

“Will The New Hulk Smash All Summer Movie Records?”

It's three months away, but already there are fan sites (and homemade fan trailers on YouTube) for this latest version of the Hulk story.
