“Why haven't we seen the actors promoting the show?”

I would love to see the Swingtown actors as guests on David Letterman or Craig Ferguson. This show is great and needs to be promoted!

The current 13 episode run is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg of stories that could be told about these couples and about that era. Young people could sure learn a lot about events that lead up to the world we have today. For example, many of the legislated rights that all people in North America enjoy today were discussed and hashed out in the '70's. Not saying they got everything right, but people tried to create a more level playing field, especially in the work place.

I saw a few advertisments for Swingtown on CBS but not that many. I was sadly under promoted. It makes you wonder why CBS didn't run more Swingtown spots. But it also brings up an interesting point. Considering the show was largely un-promoted it did pretty good to come in first or second in its time slot.

I'll be sad when the season is over. It gets better as the season goes on, the finale will be explosive!! I can't wait!

I had forgotten how much music was a part of my life when I was a teenager in the '70's because it kind of died for me when the Sex Pistols arrived on the scene. But hearing Dream Weaver, Couldn't Get It Right, and so on, well, it brought back a lot of great memories and got me into music again. I've even dusted off my old guitar. Rock on!

“Lets start a campaign for Re-runs of epis 1 to 13 with PROMOTION”

CBS should replace its weakest reality or crime drama and run it in sequesce with

(9:00)2-1/2 MEN,

(9:30) Rules of Engagement

(10:00) Swingtown

That would give CBS a blockbuster lineup that reality shows couldn't compete with and give their affiliates a break from the 70% "crime all the time" lineup.. Its stupid to run Swingtown after a stupid crime drama. All the viewers of Swingtown currently are forced to come from some other network because their viewing tastes are polar opposites from the reality crime drama crowd.

This show is mainly about personal relationships, not mainly about swingers. I love everything about this show. It is well written and well acted. Love the 70's props... hair styles, clothes, furniture, etc. Hope it stays on the air, whether network or cable, I don't care, just as long as it stays.

“Are the Swingtown fans deliberately being mislead?”

I hadn't seen any comments about it but I noticed a couple weeks ago a new item appeared under "News & Reviews" column as well as a little "A" icon on the graph. Both of these link to an item about or related to Swingtown. Have any of you clicked it? This article has absolutely nothing to do with Swingtown or any of it's performers. The first addition to the "News & Reviews" list in over two months is a mis-link while other meaningful reviews and commentary are seemingly ignored.

How about the "More Related Opinions" column that appears in place of the "News & Reviews" column when you click on an opinion? Does that list change or is it stuck that way? And why are 66% of the comments in that list negative when so many of the comments here are positive? It almost seems like someone's trying to make Swingtown look bad. Does this show some bias on the part of Hey! Nielsen?

And if this is the last post I make here because I got banned for saying this...what would that say?

It was a very gutsy and groundbreaking move by CBS head honcho to add Swingtown to their summer line-up. Let's hope she follows through on greenlighting a second season; and this wasn't just an experiment!!! Swingtown is an adult show with real depth and prospective shedding light not only on the 70's but also bringing to light what it is like to be married to someone for over ten years!!!!! It is very misleading to think that Swingtown is only about "Swingers" it's so much more than that; how do you stay in love or deal with falling out of love with your spouse????...also being attracted to another person that surpasses the physical when you are currently married and things are maybe not going so well. For women this show explores what the early stages of defining who we are and our roles within our family. Do we just follow the status quo or do we question our beliefs and what we feel defines who and what we are.

I really want to see Swingtown win a second season. And if that second season is with a cable channel then I'll still be happy for a second season at all. However, if it were to move to a premium cable channel I'm afraid the show would become little more than an excuse for an hour of soft-core porn. Which would, in turn, mean the cast would be replaced with performers who were willing to show a bit more skin on camera. I'm afraid in this situation the show we know as Swingtown would cease to be Swingtown. On a non-premium cable channel we'd probably just get more foul language in the show. But on CBS it has to live up to a certain standard...it gives the writers a narrower framework to work within and forces them to explore more creative elements of the show. Whaddya say, CBS...how about another round?

Swingtown is an attempt to take a honest look at human nature. Human nature is not what always what wish. But looking at it brings discussion and understanding concerning the way were and are. I'm guessing that the people calling this show trash have yet to see it.

This will probably be replaced with some "clever" crime drama or a tired reality show.

If I had any minor complaint about Swingtown it's that it could use a little more comedy. Some of the comedic moments have been priceless -- Doug and Laurie caught behind the bar, Brad's need for an omelet at nearly the point of coupling, Susan's solution for confrontation being 'pie' and then the hilarious stare-down in the restaurant after, etc. I find that my nerves are on edge after every show -- a bit too much. I could use a bit of comic relief to help take the edge off. Of course, the alternative prescriptions for anxiety could be pot brownies or ludes. Hm. Something to consider.

Was chatting with someone the other day about 'Swingtown' and we remarked how we haven't heard or seen a cell phone, kids are actually playing with each other rather than playing video games all day, no one is walking around with earphones, and how the best programming on TV was Hawaii Five-O. I'm sure there are a lot of young people watching this show wondering how people survived back then! Hey, if you wanted to break up with someone, you actually had to talk to them over the phone or in person. You didn't send them a Dear John text message, like today. It wasn't necessarily a 'simplier' time, but it's interesting to see how much we've changed because of technology is only about 25 years.
