Surface was one of those rare shows that had it all: truly GREAT writers, great actors, and cool special effects. It was also one of the few shows that I could see watching with my whole family -- somehow cute and edgy all at the same time. Too bad NBC's now FIRED exec never thought of it as more than "that fish show". It's telling that 10 million fans watched the season finale, despite NBC moving the show around countless times and running an abbreviated season. NBC really does have a penchant for discarding blockbusters, don't they?

It is getting to the point where unless the show is guaranteed to be a hit, I won't start watching it until the second or third season. Tired of getting into the story only to find the last half of the book missing.

Surface was a fantastic show. Even though it seemed the producers could not make up their mind how to introduce the each episode. Once you got past the "previously on Surface" the episode took off. The story was unique. The characters were interesting. And most of all it was enjoyable by the whole family. It was a great disappointemtn that it was cancelled.
