The stories this season have really improved and the ratings are up, so the show gets cancelled? Unbelievable. Atlantis has been sacrificed, thrown under the bus, in order to make room for Universe. I watch Atlantis because of the cast, especially Joe Flanigan, the camaraderie on screen and the story lines, I don't watch it just because it has "Stargate" attached to it. Just as I won't watch Universe as it came at the expense of Atlantis and that TPTB have the arrogance to think that I am a lemming that will automatically turn it on. Well, I have news for them - it is not going to happen. I will watch and buy Atlantis movies/DVDs and hope that there are many of them. I will not be tuning in to Universe.

All the shows they had that I liked were canceled-Painkiller Jane (took me forever, but got into it just in time for it to be canceled), Flash Gordon (ditto), Dresden Files (loved from the beginning), Stargate SG1 (ditto), Dead Like Me, Special Unit 2, and now Atlantis is to be added to the list. I'm sick of dealing with it. Whenever SCIFI gets a good show, they trash it and put on more anime and wrestling--which may be fine for some channels but this is supposed to be SCIFI, PEOPLE! If you want to do this, start another channel for your reality shows like Ghost Hunters, which is a ripoff of the Travel Channels psychic show (which I also avoid like the plague). So you know what I say to you, the 'all-powerful' execs? SCREW YOU and BYE-BYE, A*******! I am writing to my sattelite company about why I hate you and they are losing the money for your channel. And I will keep writing! If you won't listen to me, maybe you will listen to the people who pay you! HA! Maybe now I'll get a response

I just don't get why they want to cancel this show. It has terrific actors with great chemistry, great writing, and wonderful plots. I hear that SciFi is targeting a "younger" demographic? What, don't they want us 30+ college-educated professionals with 6-figure incomes? I suspect we spend more money on their advertisers' products than teenaged fanboys. Why are TV people so obsessed with this young male demographic? They need to get with the 21'st century.

Why is it that any show of decent quality doesn't last? I am looking forward to Stargate:Universe, but I adore Atlantis with its excellent characters. I do enjoy a good space battle and explosions, but please, give me some plot and characters with dimension! If I want comic books, I'll go to the mall and buy them.

Sci-Fi and MGM have announced the cancellation of Stargate Atlantis in favor of a show that is aimed towards a younger audience. While I agree that fanbases need to grow - this obsession with youth is really starting to tick me off. If you want to build new audiences, fine - but don't do it at the expense of your current audience!

There are only two shows on scifi that I watch now, and Atlantis is one of them! When you et rid of Atlantis, you are GONE from my viewing schedule! You want to p*** off your viewers fine. Guess what? We don't need you either! I can watch reruns without having to give you anything. Painkiller Jane, Dresden Files, SG-1, are all just some of the examples of your extreme lack in taste. Congratulations--you've lost another viewer, and one who's 20 at that. Goodbye, farewell and good riddance!

The end, hopefully is near for this channel, and maybe someone else who cares about the fans, and the genre, will start a new one. No more revenue from me. I guess I just am not the "younger" fanbase you are looking for. Who pays the cable bill? Me or my kids? No more dvd's, no more paying for your channel. Goodbye

I am a sci-fi nut, and I really love that there are a few different shows to be able to watch nowadays. Years ago you were lucky to have one on TV. I love SG-1 and I love Atlantis. They really did a great job with both of these shows. I just wish SG-1 could have continued on.
