Granted, I am a very old slug. I saw the original Saturday Night Live in it's original run. My family and I would watch it together. I was 12 or 13 at the time. There will never be anything like the original. I really don't expect there to be. I see it occasionally now and some of the sketches make me laugh. But I don't go out of my way to watch.

“Used to have real humor..now just silly or slapstick”

Don't enjoy it . What has happened to real humor? Everything is just silly, bathroom humor, or sex humor....not all funny.

Of course it will never be what it was when the Not Yet Ready for Prime Time Players was the cast, there won't ever be anything like those days, but SNL still has good writers, the current cast is great, loved seeing Tina Fey the other night on the SNL news.

“Is Saturday Night Live Still Funny?”

In my opinion, SNL has not been the same since the days of Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey, Dan Akroyd, Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, the Great John Belushi, Will Ferrell, Joe Piscopo, and Gilbert Gottfried. They really used to have truly funny skits. They weren't so wrapped up in the political landscape and making jokes about that scene. To make jokes about what's going on in the campaign right now is just not funny. Peoples' feelings about the campaign and the candidates are too raw right now. Some of the skits have a tendency to touch people the wrong way and when that happens it takes the fun out of it.

“Put this show out of its misery”

This show needs to be canceled and soon - Main reason is the cast is terrible. What happened to finding new comedic talent?

He didn't speak much, but Armisen is a skilled enough comedian that I think he can nail barack down.

Where is Seth Meyers? C'mon, this strike has to end soon. Otherwise, our collective sense of humor will dry out any minute.
