Great chick flick and it was worth the price of admission to see mega hottie Patrick Dempsey in a mini kilt! My daughter, mom & I thought it was a pretty good movie and I will be buying the DVD when it comes out.

I know a lot of people will think this is just another dumb formula romance, and it actually is. And I've missed these dumb formula romances. A LOT! In my opinion, with the world in the crummy state it's in, this movie took me away to place where I could laugh, have lots of fun, enjoy breathtaking scenery of Scotland and walk away feeling happy.

I don't understand people who make fun of such movies. Patrick Dempsey, of whom I am not a particular fan, was quite good. I think he did better here than on Grey's Anatomy. But, personally, Kevin McKidd does it for me. I admit, I am a huge fan of Kevin's, since his performances in Rome and Journeyman. But here, he gets to speak in that sexy Scottish brogue of his, as a native of Scotland, and wear a kilt. Frankly, I didn't quite get her whole thing for Dempsey, anyway. The sexual energy was far more evident with McKidd onscreen than with Dempsey. If it had been me, I'd have stayed with Kevin McKidd and lived happily ever after.

Can he make the leap from TV star to movie star (of course, we're forgetting his teen movie career in the likes of Meatballs III, etc.)
