I saw this movie with my 7-year old daughter, and we both enjoyed it. Kit is a great role model for little girls--she is smart, resourceful and spunky and always tries to look on the bright side, even when things look grim. The time period of the movie is during the Great Depression, which may have your kids asking questions about American history after the movie is over. Kit teaches us not to judge people by the way they look or how much money they have. I didn't see any boys in the theater, but I think boys would enjoy the movie as well as girls.
