One of the few movies I've ever "given in on" because of the hype. I had no interest in seeing it, not being familiar with the comics and having only a passing interest in action films, but everyone I knew had such good things to say about it that I had to see it for myself. I'm incredibly glad I did. The first half-hour or so was slow, and it took a while for the pacing to settle in properly, but after that it was a nonstop thrill. An excellent blend of action and humor, with characters I genuinely cared about and wanted to see more of. I will definitely look forward to the inevitable sequel.

His intensity is mesmerizing and I think it's what made the movie as good as it is. He has a mad-scientist way of acting which fits his character in Iron Man perfectly.

This is still by far the best movie of 2008. I saw Hancock today and I thought it would easily beat IronMan, but I was disappointed with that movie. IronMan has it all and stayed true to the comic book in every way. I think Robert Downey JR. should be nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Tony Stark because that is just how I pictured him being reading the comic for oh so many years. The sequel will be much more action-packed due to the fact that we know how he became IronMan now. WALL-E was close to being as good as IronMan, but not quite there!

This Marvel character is fantastically human. Tony has his weaknesses and his strengths like anyones else, perhaps at considerably higher intervals but still he has them. This movie provided the audience with a transformation from prick to hero. Though he does stay full of himself it is more philanthropically based by the end. I can not relate this to the comics because I never read them, and do not care to do so BUT I do appreciate these hero characters that the movies are basing their own versions off of. Iron Man may or may not be true to his original character but he surely made a phenomenal appearance to the big screen by pulling the attention of action seeking movie goers.
