It is amazing to see how many fans of David Archuleta have joined the Team Crush Kids' Cancer - Archie's Angels. As of late Thursday evening, there are 508 members. The average contribution is $54. Contrast that with the other 2 teams in the top 3. One has 64 members with an average contribution of $480 per member, the other has 27 members with an average contribution of $953. Obviously, the other 2 teams have some rich donors. Archie's Angels is truly a grass roots team. Its members are donating hard-earned money because they want to help fight cancer, and because they want to do it in the name of a young man whose own goodness has inspired the same in so many others. I believe this team best exemplifies the mission of Stand Up To Cancer. It is up to all of us to join together for a cure. We cannot rely on government funding or the contributions of a few wealthy donors.

So after David revealed that he hadn't realized that he had been dancing while singing "With You" I realized that that just pointed out how musical David is and just how much he lives and loves music. David just feels the music that he sings so much that he expresses it in several different mediums, not only singing. One of these mediums is his body, so when he dances, he is just expressing the music in a different way. When he said, "I was dancing?" I got the impression that it moving along with the song just happened naturally, like breathing. Even if he's not the greatest dancer (he is, however, the most adorable dancer), I think this just further exemplifies how much he loves music.

I will be glad once David has moved to the next stage of his career, because I believe he is too talented to stay under the AI umbrella. However, I am really enjoying this concert tour. Fans get to meet David in person nearly every day, and the rest of us are able to watch adorable videos of his interactions with them. It's a way to keep in touch with David the person (as opposed to David the artist). But once David is done with the tour, we won't have as much access. I mean, what full-fledged artist has meet-and-greets? None! And David will be a star. So I am really dreading the end of his tour days, because it signals an end to the accessible phase. The thought of never personally talking to him ever again scares and saddens me. I almost feel like we, the original fans, will not be as special because we will be lost in the sea of new fans. And I know he will gain many, many fans in the future. Basically I am excited, yet scared of the future and David's career.

There are several videos of David behind-the-scenes of American Idol or at the meet-and-greets. I swear, every single thing this guy does is cute!!!!! He does the most mundane, ordinary, everyday things and he turns it into the cutest thing I've ever seen! Let's see, the ordinary things he makes adorable include: chewing, drinking water, sneezing, putting on chapstick, feeling awkward, random bursts of singing, gesturing with his hands, saying "love" a lot, saying "oh my gosh" a lot, licking his lips, laughing, smiling, wiping the sweat off his head, thanking people, being humble, wearing cool shoes, doing handstands, etc. Heck, he could make doing taxes really adorable!!

Not only do we try new things for him, sometimes we even act completely out of character. Some people who have never donated in their lives say Archie inspired them to donate for the Stand Up to Cancer fundraiser. I once read a testimony from a student who said they began trying to do well in school because they knew he received good grades. I realized that I should stop saying "Oh my God" all the time and I should try saying "Gosh" more. Sometimes he even inspires life-alterig changes. Some have had their belief in God reaffirmed after they witnessed the inspiration of David's character and talent. Looking at that small, unassuming (although adorable and handsome) body of his, it is amazing and surprising to realize what a large amount of talent and what a large capacity for inspiration he has.
