THR.com is reporting that Arrested Development's Jessica Walter (Lucille Bluth) has signed on to join The CW's "Beverly Hills, 90210" remake. She will play Tabitha Mills, a former Hollywood star and raging alcoholic who is also grandmother to the show's two main characters.

Sounds like she will be playing a similar role to Lucille, lets hope shes as comedic and clever in West Bev.

Only the most poorly misunderstood comedy of all time. The only show that I find something new even watching it for the tenth time, it is unbelievably clever, witty, and self referential. Brilliant. Too brilliant for some simpletons as its inconsistent ratings proved

It depresses me that shows like According to Jim, King of the Hill and I Love New York are pushed by networks and continue on. And yet a well written comedic gem like Arrested Development gets canceled in it's prime, along with the likes of the lesser known Sons and Daughters, a beautiful half-improv show on ABC that never had a chance.

The entire cast had something special to add to the show to make it so unique. Granted, I never watched it when it originally aired but I blame that on bad advertising and time slot choices on FOX's part. I had never even heard of the show untill about 3 months ago and I found out how wonderful it really is.

It takes a story about a dysfunctional family into a new direction, involving a father in jail, an alcoholic mother who adopts a child in an attempt to make one of her sons jealous and a son who is in love with his cousin.

A rich comedy with no laugh track that proves over and over it doesn't need one.

Admittedly, I didn't watch this show while it was on the air, but I watched the entire series on DVD with a friend recently and I loved it. It is so witty and fun, and all of the characters are portrayed beautifully. It is absolutely brilliant, and the little things like the blue paint smudges and the seal/hand references really add something to a show that was already amazing. It is horrifying to see that it was so short-lived; what else have I been missing out on?

This is such a great show. The fact that it got treated like it did should be a crime. It was poorly advertised, it was moved around. The second and third season episode order got cut forcing them to work with what they were left with. and in my opinion they strived and rose to the occasion. I hope it comes back in some form. Whether it be movie or weekly radio show. There will always be an audience for Arrested Development. Unfortunately a loyal cult following and multiple awards don't matter as much as ratings. Losing this show was like losing a family member.

These I bought and I watch them regularly, sometimes turning friends on to the show as a result. "Arrested Development" is just another example in a long string of amazing shows FOX has let go......and why it wasn't picked up by another network is beyond me (unless, of course, FOX owned the show outright, which sometimes precludes such action, i.e. HBO and "Carnivale").

Okay, this is so far from the realm of being something that's actually going to happen but Jason Bateman is pushing the show's creator Mitchell Hurowitz to work on a screenplay to bring this show to the silver screen.

The two have had a few phone calls and Bateman was quoted as saying the idea is not "dead in the water." Obsiously this could mean a ton of things, but it would be kinda cool if the show lived on in movie form.

The full story is here.

This show was *Fantastic* - i'm british, i know a good sitcom when i see one, and this is up there with the best of them!

It's certainly better then any other comedy series in the past decade, the cast, the writing, everything about this show was so well thought out and so well executed, i honestly thought it was some sort of sick joke when i heard it was being cancelled.

What more does a show need to do to stay on the air? it won emmy's one year and is cancelled the next, it truly blows my mind

I guess i will have to keep rewatching the old episodes (the repeat viewing is fantastic, such a well layered show there's so much to enjoy that is so easy to miss on the first/second/third watch)

I don't understand how this got cancelled. Arrested Development is the funniest show I have ever seen. The ensemble cast is amazing, the writing's for-the-win, and it's one of those shows that you never grow tired of. It makes me sad when moronic shows like Two and a Half Men, According to Jim, The King of Queens, and all those nutty reality shows stay on the air forever, but Arrested Development was denied a fourth season. What's wrong with television today?!
