Idol worship is wrong. Just because we place celebrities on these immense pedestals does not make them superhuman or somehow better than anyone else. A person should always be judged by their deeds and not their status.

That being said I think Angelina is a beautiful and brave person. She is given great status but chooses not to squander it in meaningless and base pursuits like most Hollywood elite. She uses celebrity to further causes in which she believes and has passion. I think many people feel like she is egotistical and self important rubbing our noses in the fact that she has the influence to affect change on a scale an average person can’t fathom.

Just remember it is we as consumers that give celebrities that power. Next time you curse Tom, George or Angelina for their political agendas think about what you last did to affect a positive change in the world. Did you volunteer, vote or even help a neighbor?
