“I'm not into sports but found myself caught up in Olympic fever and I enjoyed cheering on my Country”

Everywhere I went, the games were on TV. Even the pizza shop next to my work brought in a TV and had the games on non-stop.

They run for just under two weeks, essentially non-stop on every single NBC owned network. They are on for four hours at a time, more than once a day. They pre-empt and just plain take over pretty much all of the programming. I haven't seen Leno or Conan in so long, I'm starting to have withdraws. It's bad enough that they run the Olympics constantly, but the Olympics are just plain boring. Who needs a four hour opening ceremony, anyways? I can't believe that this is actually getting viewers and ratings and people actually like this garbage. Everyone else seems to love the Olympics, am I the only one who hates the Olympics?

Although we on the West Coast could watch this live, we are getting a tape delay, meaning that most of the action is far after our bedtime. I am also tired of watching preliminary heats of some sports and not getting any coverage of others. I have not seen a cycle event, no wrestling, no baseball, none of the equistrian events, etc. Their view is that this is entertainment, but a lot of us would rather have it back as sports. Where is ABC dwhen you need them?

“Coverage of the award ceremony for the Men's 100 Swim Relay was not fair to Phelps' teammates.”

I am so happy for Michael Phelps and congratulations should be paid to him for sure. However, the coverage of the award ceremony for the Men's 100 Swim Relay was a bit rude. There were other members on that relay who won. I was shocked that the camera did not show a single other member of that team during the anthem. Why would you want to leave them out? It is like a slap on the face to them. I am certain that Phelps would not have wanted that to happen to his teammates either. He continues to let the media know over and over that it was the help of his teammates that helped him to reach his goals. I talk about the Olympics with friends and they have also mentioned that little snub of the camera solely focused on Phelps.

I am totally sleep deprived because of the 2008 Summer Olympics. I am into all of the events that are shown live after 10:00 pm. I am so glad that Team USA is doing so well. My favorites are gymnastics and swimming. I am looking forward to seeing some diving competition too. As much as it is making me drag at work I am loving NBC's coverage of the Olympics live after 10:00 pm.

From The NME: "Gorillaz' Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have teamed up with BBC Sport to create the title sequence and music for their coverage of the Beijing Olympics.

The animation is based on the traditional Chinese folklore tale 'Journey To The West', which the pair staged as an opera last year."

What musical act do you think would be a good choice to represent the US at the games?
