Could he be the next Adam Sandler?

I know Swardson is already a part of the Adam Sandler crew, but with a comedy CD, writing and starring in Benchwarmers and bit parts Chuck and Larry and Blades of Glory, he really could make the grab to be the next Sandler.

i thought Dane Cook was the next Adam Sandler.

I love Nick! I think his writing and acting outweigh his stand up but none the less, he is hilarious. He is what makes the movie "Grandma Boy" so great.

I think he's amazing on Reno 911. And he's very funny, but I wouldn't say he's the next Sandler - just a different style. He doesn't do the whole "shwabadabooo!!!" stuff. Very good with this ditsy California schtick.
Caradise strongly agrees (+5) . Posted Nov 27, 2007
You're right. He totally could be the next Sandler.

I think he is funny enough and deserves to become successful like Sandler, but not in the "make the same kind of funny movie 5 times then make progressively worse movies after that, and the highlight of your career post-2002 was that time you cameoed as yourself on Undeclared" kind of way.

i certainly think that sandler is past his comedic prime, though i like his dramatic work... beyond that, i enjoy swardson's cd, but i don't know that he could go that far...

He is a funny guy, that's for sure, but I don't know if he's up to be the next Sandler, who makes me laugh uproariously. I was very pleased to see, tho, that he is part of Sandler's crew and that made me more interested in checking him out.

I definitely feel as though Swardson has potential to be really really successful.  He definitely appeals to the same demographic as Sandler: young males.  As a female, his humor doesn't appeal to me quite as much.  I totally recognize him now from Chuck and Larry!  Interesting.

Nick Swardson is far too funny for his own good...Terry is by far the best part of Reno 911, and hes so gosh darn adorable!

I hope you're right, I think he's great!

He's funny, but his style is a lot different from Sandler's. As far as fame is concerned, he might be as well known someday...we'll just have to wait and see...

I don't know if he could be the next Sandler for me. When I first heard Sandler, I was in my teens and was still REALLY into d*ck and fart jokes so I don't know if anything can capture that point in my life again since I'm now a grumpy old dude.

But I will say this, his small parts in Blades of Glory made me laugh my a** off and it seems every time I watch "Grandma's Boy" I find something new to laugh at about him.

This guy is amazing in Grandma's Boy! The DDR scene is awesome.
image of MadMick76 MadMick76 agrees (+2) . Posted Nov 28, 2007
I have yet to hear the CD or see either The Benchwarmers or Chuck and Larry, but from what you said, bpacris, he sounds like he's well on his way to fulfilling Sandler's role as the resident slapstick funnyman in America.
Mephilo agrees (+1) . Posted Nov 28, 2007
This dude is funny and totally fits the roles he's been in for the last couple years.  I've netflixed most of his movies in the last 6 months.  What's next?
image of DvsE DvsE agrees (+2) . Posted Nov 28, 2007
he's certainly funnier than Rob Schneider.
image of UncleEddyFatSacs UncleEddyFatSacs agrees (+1) . Posted Nov 28, 2007
I don't think being funnier than Rob Schnieder is much of an accomplishment. It's funny that RS's film career has sorta gone to Dane Cook now.
image of MichelleNYC MichelleNYC agrees (+2) . Posted Nov 28, 2007
Until he stars in 20 movies within 5 years, I won't say he's the new Adam Sandler, but I will say he has the potential!

I agree with MathClub and hopes he sticks to "smart" decisions in his career as he starts to get more famous (which I definitely think he will).  Grandma's Boy is hilarious and he definitely stands out in Reno 911.  Woop!

His character on Reno 911 is amazing. Terrrryryyyyyyyyyy

No way he is the next Sandler. He is good at what he does bit parts. He's also good at being a big kid.

NICK SWARDSON IS THE SHIT!!! <3333
image of LuckySteph05 LuckySteph05 agrees (+3) . Posted Nov 29, 2007
Nick definitely has a lot of potential to become the next Adam Sandler. With more roles and tours, he'll get the exposure he needs to really make it big! I think he's amazinggg!
image of JoeBenzon JoeBenzon agrees (+2) . Posted Nov 29, 2007
He can be similar, but Adam Sandler is pretty hard to touch

He's too ugly to be the next Adam Sandler.
